ABC Classic is thrilled to be releasing the sixth volume in our now annual celebration of Australia’s female composers, Women of Note. Released to coincide with International Women’s Day (8 March), this album presents music by audience favourites Sally Whitwell, Genevieve Lacey and Nat Bartsch, leading Indigenous figure Dr Lou Bennett, rising stars Isabella Gerometta, Kate Moore and Anne Cawrse, plus Meta Cohen's extraordinary song cycle a love is a love is a love, ‘a love letter to queerness and the LGBTQIA+ community’: an affirmation of sexual desire and romantic love, but also of the myriad other kinds of queer connections, from platonic love, friendships and kinships to the experience of navigating the world as a queer person.
